Meet Our Team

Julia Sargent
Julia is a dedicated advocate for children and youth, guided by childhood and youth studies, community care, and social justice. She believes children and youth are active social actors whose voices and experiences should be meaningfully recognized in the spaces that shape their lives.
In her role as Administrative and Program Support Coordinator for PACT’s Grow-to-Learn (GTL) Garden and LifePlan Coaching (LPC) programs, Julia supports the day-to-day operations of community-based, trauma-informed programming. Behind the scenes, she helps ensure systems and processes run smoothly so that children, youth, and families can access consistent, supportive programming in their daily lives.
Julia also works as a Research Assistant to Dr. Hunter Knight (King’s University College), contributing to research on school seclusion rooms, with attention to how racist and ableist logics are reflected in policy and media discourse. Her work is informed by a strong interest in how childhood is shaped through institutions and how children and youth experience those systems in everyday life.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood and Youth Studies (major) from King’s University College (Dean’s List), with a focus on child and youth engagement, advocacy, and systemic change. She also holds a Diploma in Social Service Work from George Brown College (Dean’s List) and a Certificate in Human Services Foundations from Fanshawe College (Dean’s List), where she received the Annie Brown Memorial Scholarship.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time with her family, bird watching with her cat Sya, getting lost in a good book, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.
