Meet Our Team

Rahim Essabhai has been an educator for over 15 years and is the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. In addition to facilitating experiential learning curriculum and creating strong partnerships within the local and global community, he also has completed a Masters of Education in Applied Psychology & Human Development.

While studying, traveling, teaching, and volunteering in more than 25 countries, Rahim often spends his time gazing at maps searching for the next eye-opening experience; this led him to Africa to volunteer within a secondary school located in one of the world’s largest refugee camps, which was the spark for his students and staff at John Polanyi Collegiate Institute to volunteer and build schools in Nicaragua and Ecuador.

 

Among his long list of achievements in social entrepreneurship, Rahim has led students in global volunteer initiatives, volunteered for several charities, and has worked with PACT for a decade, helping to develop a holistic community infrastructure in Lawrence Heights.

 

Rahim enjoys meeting new people, personalities, and possibilities; and of course tasting the endless variety of culinary arts that this planet has to offer. Family and philanthropy are embodied in all aspects of his life and aspires to improve this world one conversation at a time.
