PACTBuild

Building Urban Peace in partnership with the courts and schools

a Woodworking Project

PACTBuild is an introductory real-world woodworking and construction project for at-risk youth across the GTA.  Through the six-week project, youth will develop practical carpentry and construction skills while working as part of a crew.

The team-based environment immerses youth in building things that are important and needed to support local community initiatives such as bird houses, park benches and custom garden sheds to be used at urban agriculture programs in local high schools and community gardens.

The garden sheds support PACT Urban Agriculture projects by providing required storage and shelter for garden plots across the city. These gardens provide local food banks with fresh, locally-grown organic produce year-long.

PACT provides a safe environment where youth can fulfill community service orders, ignite a passion, acquire tangible skills and gain a sense of self-esteem by seeing a project through to completion.

PACTBuild is run out of PACT’s own fully equipped woodworking shop in South Etobicoke.
